During your stay on a retreat, you will have full access to the following services and treatments…
Body Scrubbing
Everyone’s first alternative healing treatment will be a body scrub. There is no point in adding nutritional food and beautiful oils to a body where the skin is packed full of old dead skin cells.
Improving circulation is the first step in the detox process. It allows the skin to emerge smooth, bright and healthy.
Skin scrubbing also helps nudge the lymphatic system into action.
Reflexology
Reflexology of the feet is also referred to as Zone Therapy. Foot reflexology is especially popular as a body therapy since there are nearly 15,000 nerves in your feet alone, making them especially sensitive to touch (hence why foot massages feel so good!)
Modern reflexology is based on an ancient form of therapy. There is evidence of some form of foot and hand therapy that was practiced in China as long ago as 2330 B.C. Also at the same time in Egypt, as depicted in the tomb of Ankmahor.

Auricular De-stress and Detox Treatment
A simple 5 point Acupuncture protocol performed in the ear, perfected over almost 40 years, backed by research & results has brought relief to many people who suffered with an addiction, mental illness or toxicity related illness.
This treatment leaves you relaxed, grounded and energized in a positive way. It is very effective for anyone with stress, addiction, headaches, insomnia, hyperactivity or toxicity issues.
This treatment forms a very big part in the process of healing as it is safe and very effectively used multiple times in one week with excellent results.

Deep tissue-Trigger Point-Massage
The massages we offer are not for pampering or relaxation, our aim is to find the knots and deeply buried traumas that we try to hide from in everyday life, activating true healing.
Through this (quite painful) treatment we are able to access problem areas, and release very deep stress that hides in the deep layers of muscle tissue. But don’t worry – it is only the first two or three sessions that are painful, after that treatments are sheer bliss.
It is a process of patiently releasing and working through the layers as the body allows permission to go deeper. Flexibility is repaired and cells receive nutrients and oxygen with the stimulated circulation. The lymphatic system is enabled to work more effectively and in return, the body relaxes very deeply.
The treatment often allows for emotional release, triggered by the meridians that are re-activated and circulation that is restored to the areas previously starved of essential nourishment.
Natural Acupuncture
For over 3,000 years, acupuncture has been used by doctors throughout eastern Asia to prevent and treat ailments of all kinds.
Today, acupuncture is used around the globe and is endorsed as a viable medical treatment option by both the World Health Organization and the United States National Institutes of Health.
Acupuncture can be used as a form of treatment for nearly any health concern.
Currently, acupuncture is most well-known for its powerful effect in helping reduce pain without the use of medication.
Acupuncture is also widely used for addressing hormonal imbalances, such as menstrual irregularities, infertility, and menopausal symptoms.
It is also common therapy for emotional support that is used for conditions such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, and stress.
Other common health concerns that can be treated with acupuncture include nausea, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, headaches, allergies, asthma, and nasal congestion.

Iridology
In the field of alternative healing, iridology is the study of the colored part of the eye (called the iris) to determine potential health problems. Iridologists believe that changing patterns and markings in the iris can be used to reveal emerging conditions in every part of the body and to identify inherited weaknesses that may lead to physical and emotional disorders.
Iridology cannot detect a specific disease. It is a preventive practice that helps people to understand their basic health issues so that they can seek treatment, if necessary, from the appropriate specialist.
According to iridologists, if a health problem is detected at an early stage, something can then be done to prevent it from becoming a full-blown disease.
The idea that the eyes are a mirror to the body is an ancient one:
The Greek physician Hippocrates was known to examine patients’ eyes for signs of illness. It wasn’t until 1670, however, that the first actual medical reference to iridology as a diagnostic tool appeared in German physician Phillipus Meyens book ‘Chiromatica Medica’.
Steam room
The Benefits of Steam:
The use of steam baths goes back centuries often to the Romans and the Greeks who used steam as a means to heal and draw out impurities from the body. Hippocrates, the father of western medicine, also documented the benefits of steam as means of generating daily health.
Most recently, Dr Reinhard Bergel of the University of Munich’s Institute of Medical Balneology and Climatology attributes physiological changes that occur during the bath” to “raise the body temperature in part to the influence of the reflexes of the hormonal and nervous systems, which attempt to increase heat loss”
Moist heat has been known to be significant in the treatment of upper respiratory conditions.
Moist heat in the steam shower, has been documented by Dr. Bergel, to relieve the following conditions especially for cold sufferers. Benefits of steam room sessions can help with the following conditions:

- Bronchial Asthma
- Bronchitis
- Catarrh of the upper
- Respiratory tract
- Coughs
- Hoarseness
- Expectoration (coughing up phlegm)
Steam has often been praised for its benefits in respiratory health while improving sinus drainage, bronchial secretions, and nasal passages related to symptoms of viruses. However it also has many benefits for the skin as well including:
- Opening pores
- Lubricating the skin
- Hydrating dry skin
- Rejuvenating the skin
Your skin is an organ on the outside of your body.
And not only does the skin benefit overall from steam sessions, but steam just helps overall with:
- The removal of toxins
- Increasing circulation
- Ridding of excess sodium
- Relieving pain and discomfort from arthritis
- Aiding in metabolic function
- Relieving stress
- Promoting deep and restful sleep
- Fostering wellbeing
- Boosting in metabolism, burning 150 calories in a 15 minute steam session at 114 degrees
We use steam therapy as a means to detox the body in a safe, gentle, subtle way which is why this service is one of our basic detox services, as it uses the body’s own ability to detoxify itself.
This body therapy service can be combined with the healing properties of essential oils and salt scrubs prior to the steam room therapy.
Lymphatic drainage
Your lymphatic system helps eliminate your body’s waste.
A healthy, active lymphatic system uses the natural movements of smooth muscle tissue to do this.
Surgery, medical conditions, or other damage can cause fluids to build up in your lymph system and your lymph nodes, a condition known as lymphedema.
If you’ve ever had a surgery on or involving your lymph nodes, your doctor may have suggested lymphatic drainage massage performed by a certified massage or physical therapist.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage [MLD] is a unique, gentle type of skin massage technique that promotes lymph to drain out of a limb into an area that drains normally. It is mainly used for lymphedema.
In addition to improving lymphatic circulation, MLD also increases blood flow in deep and superficial veins.
This treatment is not recommended for everyone but will be individually discussed based on your specific case and analysis.
